The WTKO of Staten Island practices traditional Shotokan karate. Emphasis is placed on a balanced approach to training which includes kihon (basics), kata (forms), and kumite (sparring). Karate is a dynamic and exciting form of self defense and also a growing and popular sport.
Over the past few years members of this dojo have competed in regional, national and world karate championships in the United States and around the world, winning a total of ten world championship 1st palace medals.


Training Schedule;


Tuesday
Children 6:05 to 6:50 pm
Adults 7:00 to 8:10 pm

Thursday
Children 6:05 to 6:50 pm
Adults 7:00 to 8:10 pm

Saturday
Children 11:00 am to 12:00 noon
Instructors 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm

Introductory classes by appointment.
Introductory classes are 30 minutes
$20 fee includes 2 intro classes and a karate uniform.


Membership fees are:

$119.00 individual membership
$225.00 family membership 2 or more no additional fees
All testing is included and WTKO member passport in included at signup.

WTKO member Passport renewals are each January at $20.00

Black Belt testing fee:
Shodan-ho (junior grade) $120.00
1st Dan black belt $120.00 plus $50.00 registration fee.
2nd Dan black belt $150.00 plus $50.00 registration fee. Minimum two years after 1st dan black belt.
3rd Dan black belt $200.00 plus $50.00 registration fee. Minimum three years after 2nd dan black belt.
